Thermopolis Wyoming Bighorn Fishing GuideDoc, Hank, and I had a wonderful rainy day on the Bighorn River this Sunday. The weather and moss didn't chase us off and we had a wonderful May day on the water. The river remained pretty clear despite the rain. Doc and Hank caught several nice Rainbows in the 19-20 inch range. Sowbugs seemed to be the ticket. Bighorn River water flows are up to 1000-1200 cfs from 500 cfs a month ago. These flows will remain at these levels for the summer to cover irrigation, so we will not see major spring run-off like a few years ago. Fishing will remain "Bighorn good" as usual. Moss is here for the season.

Wyoming Fly Fishing Guide Dubois, Lander, ThermopolisMother's Day weekend and I had the great opportunity to fish with my favorite people, my wife and kids. We headed to one of the Dubois and Lander area lakes for an afternoon fishing session. The fishing was outstanding and the company was even better! Thank you Cece for our beautiful children. I feel blessed to be able to spend time on the water with you! We all caught several nice Rainbow trout, and the weather was perfect. Fishing on the lakes for trout right now is hot. Fish are rising and taking streamers in the depths. Bighorn River, Wyoming Info: The Bighorn River in Thermopolis, Wyoming is fishing well. River flows for the summer bumped up from 700 to 1100 cfs. Water levels should remain in the 1100 range for the summer and fish have had a chance to settle. Keep posted for more guide reports.

Bighorn Wyoming Fly Fishing GuidesThe spring fly fishing in Thermopolis, Wyoming on the Bighorn River has been outstanding! RyHud, Mike, and Leo had perfect weather, great fly fishing, and good times on the Bighorn...as usual. Here is RyHud and Leo with a big bruiser Brown Trout and the fish of the day. Congrats Leo! Nymphing, streamer fishing, and some fantastic dry fly fishing are all happening right now. Spring time is baetis time! I talked to the Bureau of Reclamation and it looks like flows will slowly start to increase with the warmer weather we are getting. Emphasis is getting Boysen Reservoir filled up and keeping down river irrigation flows at the normal 1100-1300 cfs, so no crazy big flows or high water runoff with our below average precipitation. The Bighorn is flowing at 700 cfs right now. We will keep you posted as to when they will issue more water released.

Green River Fly Fishing Wyoming Guide ServiceSpring has been a lion this year in Wyoming with much needed moisture and big storms. Between storms though, the fishing has remained outstanding. This weekend was a nice break from the stormy weather and conditions were perfect for some amazing fly fishing on the Green River. We caught a lot of nice Rainbow trout, Browns, Cutthroats, and one foul hooked whitefish. Fish seemed to be keying in on annelids and baetis nymphs. We definitely stirred a few on big ugly streamers. We were fortunate enough to see bald eagles, moose, pelicans, swans, and herons. The Green River is such a special and wild place to fish. Definitely a must fish river when in Wyoming.
